The Nanjing Porcelain Tower was a PIECE OF ART! | Retro Tourism #2 :

15th century in China, Zhu Di (or Yongle) designed the porcelain tower in honor of his deceased mother.
The Octogonal building was located in the ancient capital of Nanjing.
17 years were needed but the result was outstanding!

One tower made only out of porcelain! Can you imagine European or even Chinese who discovered that piece of art ?
It was the pride of the Ming dynasty as well as the entire Chinese empire.
